Boston’s Back Bay is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Boston Proper. An area full of great architecture, endless activity, and history. Newbury Street is a top destination and international attraction that runs through the Back Bay and is prime for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Head a few blocks to the north and take in the beautiful esplanade that runs along the Charles River where the activity possibilities are endless.
 
The architecture and buildings in the Back Bay are truly beautiful and unique. Each is almost totally different from the next. The streets lined with brick rowhouses and brownstones all date back to the 1800s when they were originally constructed. The main streets in the area include Beacon Street, Commonwealth Avenue, Marlborough, Newbury, and Boylston Streets which all run east and west taking you either outside of the city or towards the Boston Common, Public Garden, and Downtown. Residential and retail spaces are found throughout in a varied mix of street by street.
