On Friday, November 6, three winter attractions open within a short walk of each other. The Snowport Holiday Market returns to 100 Seaport Boulevard for its sixth season. Snow Ballers opens its winter rink at 25 Pier 4 Boulevard. The free Snowport curling lanes at 111 Harbor Way start their run the same day.
For the first month, the market and the rink keep the same weekday hours, 3 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. On weekends both open in the morning, and the market sells timed arrival. The Seaport is planning two winters here. The weekend version is built for people arriving from somewhere else. The weekday version, especially before December 7, is the one people who live a few blocks away can just walk into.
Same weekday hours, different weekends
Here is how the two biggest November openings line up, using the hours each venue has published.
| Regular hours, Nov 6 to Dec 6 | Snowport Holiday Market | Snow Ballers rink |
|---|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. | 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. |
| Friday | 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. | Noon to 9 p.m. |
| Saturday | 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. | 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. |
| Sunday | 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. | 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. |
| Entry | Free; weekend fast pass optional | $20 adults, $15 under 12, rental included |
On weekdays, the five hours from 3 to 8 p.m. are the whole day for both venues. On weekends, Snow Ballers opens at 9 a.m. and the market at 10 a.m. A household that heads out on a Tuesday afternoon can browse the stalls and skate in one outing.
One detail matters before you bring skates. According to Snow Ballers, the rink is a Glice synthetic surface, not frozen ice. Rentals are included in the session price, and hockey skates are allowed only if you bring your own. The venue also keeps its outdoor padel courts open through the winter at $100 an hour, which works out to $25 a person.
The weekend is the ticketed version
General admission to Snowport is free every day. On weekends, organizers are bringing back a fast pass program that lets visitors reserve an arrival time through the Seaport Insider app, Boston 25 reported. Fast passes cost $15 for adults and $7 for veterans and children ages 6 to 17. Children 5 and under are free. Selling a reserved arrival time only makes sense when a crowd is expected to wait. Monday through Thursday, no pass is offered.
The weekday schedule has its own programming. Mohegan Music Mondays bring emerging Berklee College of Music performers to the market starting at 5 p.m. each Monday, with more live music planned Tuesday through Thursday. The lineup this year includes more than 130 independent businesses, 17 of them local food and beverage vendors, and Boston 25 reports that 61% of participating businesses are based in New England. There are four themed bars: The Jingle Bar, The Dizzy Dreidel, Betty's Bar and The Blizzard Bar, each pouring its own seasonal cocktail.
The curling lanes use the same app. The lanes are free, run from November 6 through February 28, 2027, and take reservations through Seaport Insider. That gives the curling season the longest tail of anything at Snowport, about two months past the market's final day.
December 7 changes the math
The weekday window doesn't stay at 3 p.m. Starting December 7, the market opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday, while weekend hours stay the same. Apart from the holiday exceptions below, the last three weeks before Christmas run on full-day hours every day the market is open, so the gap between a weekday visit and a weekend visit gets smaller.
The holiday calendar ends on these dates:
- The market closes on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
- It closes at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
- Its final day is December 27.
The Snowport Tree Market along Harbor Way keeps a different schedule. It runs from Friday, November 20, through Thursday, December 24, open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily except Thanksgiving. Shoppers can load a tree into their car or arrange local delivery with Lambert's team, according to the Seaport's Tree Market page. Its 9 a.m. weekday opening is earlier than anything else at Snowport in November.
Before 3 p.m., the daytime shift is already open
On November weekdays before the market and rink open at 3 p.m., Fireside at The Current is already running its pop-ups. The village opened along Seaport Common on September 25 and runs through January 31, 2027. Its hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Caught in Southie listed the season's nine pop-ups:
- Elli Parr, a Vermont jewelry brand with a DIY charm bar, permanent jewelry and engraving
- It's For Now with Maker Scholar, offering on-site engraving, embroidery and a build-your-own jacket bar
- Morandi, a curated fashion edit with limited drops
- MYKA, a Madrid-born Greek frozen yogurt shop making its Boston debut
- NOBULL, the Boston-born performance brand, returning
- The Sweetish Fish, a Swedish candy shop, back for a third season
- Tiny Chaos Studios, a DIY press-on nail studio from Allston
- Union Square Donuts, returning with Seaport-only specials
- WNTR by Bobbles & Lace, in the ski wear line's first dedicated space
"This fall brings together returning favorites and new concepts in a warm, inviting setting that encourages visitors to discover new brands and embrace the season in Seaport."
That is how Ariel Foxman of WS Development described the season in the announcement Caught in Southie published.
The other daytime option is new. Bloom, a tea and cocktail bar at 60 Seaport Boulevard, sits in the building's atrium under the escalator. It serves specialty tea and seasonal matcha from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., then cocktails from 5 to 11 p.m. Boston.com reported a slimmer menu and Mondays off for the first two weeks after opening, followed by seven-day service. Bloom's matcha service ends at 3:30 p.m., about half an hour after the market and rink open.
After 8 p.m., the handoff goes to dinner
The weekday market closes at 8 p.m., and two of the fall's openings are close by. Celine opened at 324 A Street in Fort Point, in the former Blue Dragon space, Boston Restaurant Talk reported on October 5. Coda Restaurant Group, the team behind SRV Boston, The Salty Pig, Gufo and Baleia, built the menu around Montreal cooking: poutine, cassoulet, moules marinière, steak frites and roasted duck breast. Hawksmoor, which Eater Boston reported opening September 8 at 15 Necco Street, has a 280-seat dining room plus a bar and terrace. Bloom's evening cocktail service runs until 11 p.m.
Fort Point keeps its own calendar on the same afternoons
A few blocks across the channel, the arts calendar has nothing to do with Snowport's schedule. The Fort Point Arts Community group show at Atlantic Wharf, 290 Congress Street, runs through January 3, 2027. On Sunday, November 8, FPAC hosts "Romantic Twilights," a free Harbor Harmonies concert from 3 to 4 p.m. at 15 Channel Center Street. That is the first Sunday Snowport is open, and the concert ends early enough to walk over to the market afterward.
At the ICA, Cynthia Daignault: Valley and Leilah Babirye: Embaga ya Naki ne Naki run through January 18, 2027. 90 YEARS and 90 YEARS — Beyond the Galleries continue through March 7, 2027. Those closing dates outlast the market by weeks and leave something to see on the waterfront after the holiday stalls come down.
The dated nights between now and New Year's
A handful of events land on fixed dates. Here they are in order:
- Friday, December 4. Light Up Seaport runs 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Seaport Common, 85 Northern Avenue, with holiday music and Betty the Yeti. Organizers say more details are coming.
- Thursday, December 10. The Menorah Lighting, listed on the Snowport schedule.
- Saturday, December 12. The Seaport Holiday Stroll runs 1 to 4 p.m., with in-store promotions, giveaways, live music and a photobooth by the big tree.
- Thursday, December 31. The free New Year's Eve ice sculpture stroll runs 1 to 5 p.m. at Waterfront Plaza, with 40-plus sculptures placed along the waterfront from Revere Beach to the Seaport.
Snow Ballers' winter season runs through December 31. After that, Fireside at The Current closes January 31, and the curling lanes stay open until February 28.
